Timespiral Block Constructed
June 29, 2007 on 5:36 pm | In Magic | | DarkSentinelWell I’ve created a number of rather odd very rogue decks for TSP Block Constructed, and here is the first: Pyrohemia.
Rw Pyrohemia.dec v1.0.0
Timespiral Block Constructed
JKN on 28/06/2007Creatures (20):
4 Thick-Skinned Goblin
3 Mistmeadow Skulk
1 Aetherflame Wall
3 Aether Membrane
3 Simian Spirit Guide
3 Stuffy Doll
2 Lymph Sliver
1 Greater GargadonEnchantments (4):
4 PyrohemiaArtifacts (2):
2 Gauntlet of PowerSorceries (11):
2 Disintegrate
1 Molten Disaster
2 Browbeat
2 Sulfurous Blast
2 Shivan Meteor
1 Rough// TumbleInstants (1):
1 Angel’s GraceLands (5):
2 Terramorphic Expanse
1 Pendelhaven
2 Keldon MegalithsBasic Lands (18):
7 Plains
11 MountainSideboard:
3 Word of Seizing
2 Detritivore
3 Ghostfire
2 Disenchant
1 Greater Gargadon
2 Pact of the Titan
2 Molten Disaster
The idea is to put a bit of pressure on with creatures and hopefully drop both Stuffy Doll and Pyrohemia. Plenty of board-clog and some sweep give the deck some options vs. aggro (especially Aether Membrane which not only blocks fliers but gets around the usual problem with walls, namely that they can only block one thing at a time). Against control it tries to deal enough damage to finish with a Molten Disaster (possibly aided by Gauntlet of Power) . Damnation is slightly problematic vs. everything except Stuffy Doll, but the sideboard offers Pact of the Titan as a counter of sorts (stops the Pyrohemia from dying and pokes face for 4).
Creatures have been carefully chosen to be resistant to Pyrohemia, and I have high hopes for Mistmeadow Skulk. Of note is that in this deck Stuffy Doll laughs at Take Possession and Word of Seizing.
The sideboard has Word of Seizing against anything troublesome, especially the RG Big Mana deck; Ghostfire to deal with things like Soltari Priest; and Greater Gargadon + Pact of the Titan + Molten Disaster as an anti-UB control package.
Will it, as hoped, break the format? Probably not. But it should be a fun deck to play, do well in the meta and be almost broken in multiplayer.
