Nostalgia sucks

September 18, 2008 on 1:54 am | In Other Gaming | No Comments | Sicopath

I remember playing this game on Sega Master System more than a decade ago, my cousin rented it from United Video;

I don’t remember so much about it, he brought it back to his house in one of those blank, numbered black boxes the video stores provided you with those days and the barely used cartridge plugged in and started up without a hitch.

I remember it being a pretty fun game; the gameplay was simplistic and character selection small (4 characters) but being that at the time we were obsessively playing the far more complex and skill testing Mortal Kombat, it was a refreshing change. But that’s all besides the point, what’s wrong with the game? On the cover image, the fat guy is about to deliver a fatal crotch punch. Nostalgia sucks.

Planning for PTQ Berlin (with Shadowmoor)

May 24, 2008 on 10:28 pm | In Magic, Other Gaming, Uncategorized | 15 Comments | DarkSentinel

This was the initial planning thread for PLT1’s preparation for PTQ: Berlin, with Shadowmoor. Since it is now semi-obsolette we’re opening it to show our planning process.
The decks here are not final, nor are they necessarily good/viable/playable.
In hindsight some comments may appear uninformed/erroneous. Live with this.

The word on everyone’s mind: “Pole”

June 6, 2007 on 1:30 am | In Other Gaming | 12 Comments | Sicopath

You are currently thinking about the word “pole”.
This is utterly true and non-arguable, since you’ve just read the word “pole” and that means that the word “pole” is in the forefront of your immediate conciousness.

As an addendum, I would like to add that you are now breathing manually.

Okay then.

Moving right along;

Here’s my current roundup of all things directly related to themselves; this does not imply incest.

WoW is good for this:

Random DotA replay:
lole click hear
And as I see you shitdicks have leapt onto the “APM matters” bandwagon, my average APM was 101. The lowest out of anyone in the game.

Also, cocks.

Until next time; when someone says “Jimmy” you must say “hat”.

this little IM app is pretty buggy, but I’m addicted to avatar customization. Great fun in it’s own little way.

Trackmania United

November 24, 2006 on 12:21 am | In Other Gaming | No Comments | Jeremy Read

To alleviate boredom during the holidays I bought myself a copy of TM United. Starforce issues aside, it’s a decent game. Better than Trackmania Nations, which was decent for lans. The game is extremely fast based in some scenario settings, it’s not hard to hit over 900KM/h in the island setting.

Cars seem to drift around corners more easily than in Nations, especially in the Coast campaign, though at times it’s more an annoyance due to the extreme speeds you’re trying to keep under control.
Was it worth the $80 I paid for it though? Well yes and no. The game in itself isn’t worth that much. However this edition of Trackmania is based around community content, so much so there’s a peer to peer network where you pay for items with an online currency called “coppers”. Where you receive a daily stipend of coppers if you login, with addition coppers gained achieving exceptional laptimes and also by providing content. So although it may not be worth it now, within a few months it could be easily worth that much.

I really don’t like the Starforce copy protection though, it’s sad to say that I’d have preferred that the game was available on Steam.
