My First Post
May 31, 2007 on 7:27 pm | In Contemplation | 7 Comments | Rift I have found that towards the end of the working day (for me, usually around 2pm) my brain starts to overheat and slosh around the inside of my skull. I have theorized that, due to an over active imagination and other forces outside my control, my head is overheating and melting the fat that protects my brain from the outside world.
Given the fact that my body temperature is around *37 degrees Celsius and the melting point of adipose tissue (bodily fat) is on average *227 degrees Celsius, I can deduce that in the 8 hours that I have been using my brain (the day beginning at 6am when I wake), its temperature has increased by **190 degrees Celsius, a rate of **23 degrees per hour. The boiling point of said tissue is, on average, around *2300 degrees Celsius.
Therefore, if my brain continues to produce such heat while in use (i.e. during waking hours) it would take a little under **100 hours of conscious thought to bring the fluids in my head to a boil. Considering that gases take up much more room than liquids, if I were to remain awake for more than **4 days my head would explode.
I realize that there may be a few flaws in my reasoning (albeit minor ones), but I submit it for peer review none the less.

Random Phonecall
May 29, 2007 on 9:37 pm | In News | 1 Comment | AtomixI was sitting on the bus today.. on my way back to Tamaki.. when I got an odd phonecall
Me: Hello Andie speaking
Lady: Andrea?
Me: Yea…?
Lady: Aren’t you working today?
Me: I am?
Lady: Yes! You’re meant to be covering Josh’s shift
Me: Huh?
Lady: You were meant to be here at 4
Me: Huh? Where?
Lady: At work
Me: Where am I meant to be working?
Lady: PaperPlus
Me: Um.. I don’t work at PaperPlus…
Lady: Is this Andrea?
Me: Yea…
Lady: Um, Ok.. *hangs up*
Now.. I get random calls on my phone sometimes, asking for people who aren’t me.. so what I’m confused about is how they got both my name and number right for somewhere I don’t work and have never applied to work for..
I get confused easily..

Brief FNM report
May 19, 2007 on 2:06 pm | In Magic | 6 Comments | DarkSentinelOk, this is at Jawyei’s request, a brief battle report for FNM 18 May, Future-Sight constructed.
There were two dissapointments about the ‘tournament’, firstly it was not sanctioned because it allowed Future Sight cards (admittedly I was one of two people to run a FS card - Magus of the Vineyard in my case) , and secondly only six people played, so there weren’t any exciting prizes either (if 8 people had played the winner would have received a FS and a random Kamigawa booster). Spork or Spock?
May 15, 2007 on 9:25 pm | In Contemplation | 1 Comment | InsanityPrawnBoyWhich would concern you most if it were lodged in your eye, a spork or Spock?
A spork in the eye would not be a pleasant thing to experience and am not advocating sporks in the eyes over Spock in the eye.

That being said at least sporks are real unlike Spock (sorry if I have upset anyone here but Spock and the Star Trek universe are not real, neither is Star Wars I might add (Han shot first though!)). I myself would be quite worried if I had Spock lodged in my eye. This I fell would open many many confusing questions. For example: “What the hell?” “What the hell, is that Spock?” “What the hell is Spock doing in my eye!?” And once the shock has warn off questions such as: “What the hell Spock isn’t real, how the hell is he here now?” And classic questions like “Hey Spock, did Kirk really get it on with that many hot alien women?”

Live long and prosper.
